Data Deletion

How to disconnect a platform from Theo and how to ask us to delete your data. Last updated: October 19, 2026.

Theo is operated by The Growth Collective Inc. Use this page if you want Theo to stop reading a platform, or if you want us to delete data we have stored. It is also the data deletion instructions page for our Meta, Google, Slack and Shopify connections.

1. Disconnect a platform

A workspace administrator can disconnect any connected platform in Theo Console. Open Connections, choose the connection, and select Disconnect.

The stored credentials for that connection are deleted at once, and Theo can no longer read the platform. Disconnecting does not by itself delete data Theo has already stored from that platform, such as change logs, snapshots, performance history and files. To remove that data, ask us to delete it (step 3).

2. Remove Theo from the platform itself

• Slack. A Slack workspace admin can remove Theo under Manage apps. Theo loses access to your channels at once, and a background job then deletes Theo's copies of that workspace's Slack messages.
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram). In your Meta account, open Settings and privacy, then Settings, then Apps and websites, and remove Theo. This ends Theo's access. To delete data we have already stored, follow step 3.
• Google. Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions, choose Theo, and select Remove access. Google data we hold for your workspace is deleted with the rest of your data through step 3.
• Shopify. Uninstall Theo from your Shopify admin. Shopify tells us, and we revoke the connection and delete its stored credentials.

3. Ask us to delete your data

1. Email hello@withtheo.ai with the subject "Data deletion request". Send it from an email address associated with your workspace, name your organization, and say whether you want everything deleted or only the data from certain clients or platforms. If you connected Meta, include the name of the connected ad account or Business so we can find the data quickly.
2. We check that the request comes from an owner or administrator of the workspace.
3. Within 30 days we delete the data in scope and confirm to the address that sent the request.

The data we delete includes:

• stored credentials and access tokens;
• conversations, including Theo's copies of Slack messages;
• daily change logs and settings snapshots (for example from Google Ads and Shopify, and the learning state from Meta);
• Meta performance history;
• files and media, including ad creative and drafts;
• client records, notes, rules and settings;
• account records, if you ask us to delete the whole workspace.

Minimal records that the law requires us to keep, or that show who approved what, may stay.

If your data reached us through a customer

If you are, for example, a brand's email subscriber or a store customer whose information sits in a platform an agency connected to Theo, please ask that agency first. We act on the agency's behalf and will help them respond. You can also write to us at hello@withtheo.ai.
